For Minors (under 18):
Signed by both parents
Legalized birth certificate (with both parents' names) — translated if not in German, English, French or Italian
Copies of both parents' passports
Consent letter from any parent not travelling with the minor, certified by Canadian authority
Court documents showing guardianship (if applicable)
Death certificate (if one parent is deceased)
Passport & Photocopy
Original passport (valid 3+ months after intended stay, issued within last 10 years, with 2 blank pages)
Photocopy of passport: photo, data, and signature pages only
Copies of any previous Schengen visas, including entry/exit stamps
Passport Photo
One recent color photo (not attached; must meet official requirements)
Flight Reservation
Confirmed flight/train reservations showing:
Entry to the Schengen area
Internal travel (if applicable)Exit from the Schengen area
Applicant’s name and reservation number must be visible
Travel Insurance
Must cover the entire Schengen trip and include:
Your full name and coverage dates
Worldwide or Schengen coverage
Minimum coverage: CAD 50,000 / EUR 30,000
Covers emergency medical, hospitalization, and repatriation
No generic policy descriptions or booklets accepted
Travel Itinerary
A day-by-day travel plan including:
Cities to be visited
Accommodation Proof
Hotel reservation(s) for every night in the Schengen area
Each booking must include a reservation number.
Proof of Financial Means
Personal Canadian bank statements (past 3 months)
Must show your name and all transactions
Minimum required funds:
CAD 145 per day (general travellers)
CAD 50 per day (students)
Proof of Canadian Residency
If not a Canadian citizen:
PR card (both sides on one page) OR Valid work or study permit and visa in passport
Residency must be valid 3+ months beyond return date to Canada.
Proof of Occupation / Ties to Canada
If employed:
Recent letter from employer confirming:
Position, salary, and continued employment after return
If self-employed:
Proof of business registration, incorporation, or license showing your name
If a student:
Enrollment letter and student ID copy (both sides on one page)
Others (retirees, etc.):
Evidence of ties in Canada, such as:
Property ownership (tax notices, invoices)
Investments or financial commitments (e.g. Notice of Assessment)
Family obligations
